Country resort with view onto Val d’Elsa

Code: TO0021

Everything smells the history at Casole d’Elsa, small medieval village which developed around a castle built by Volterra town in this strategic location, between Siena and Florence, already in the XIth century; taken under the jurisdiction of Siena two hundred years later, the tiny village enjoys the unpaired charm of the rural, ancient Tuscan spirit in an evocative scenario. In the heart of a property of more than 10 hectares, the country residence “La Sughera”, meaning “cork oak”, a typical tree of the Mediterranean vegetation, welcome its guests in the wise and precious restoration of an old country farmhouse which has been turned into a resort featuring three buildings where to lodge up to six visitors each, served by wide service areas and by a huge swimming pool. The main body of the residence is divided into seven apartments of various sizes and lay-out, on top of which hospitality is offered also by a small guesthouse and by and independent cottage with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms; the three buildings offer an unpaired view onto the sweet hills of Val d’Elsa, covered with woods of chestnuts, olive-trees, cypresses and vineyards of renowned wines. The restoration of the old farmhouse rooms has been extremely careful and made with full respect of the spirit of the place, which can be seen and smelled in the country, but refined finishing of the whole housing development, from the raw stone which is the leading finishing of every building, to cotto-tiled floors, to beamed oak ceilings, exposed bricks details, fireplaces in raw materials, all enriching bright and comfortable rooms where the typical friendliness of the Tuscan countryside meets the luxury of details and materials.
